PERKEMBANGAN KOTA KECIL MUNTILAN KABUPATEN MAGELANG

Kesenjangan masih sering terjadi dalam studi pengembangan kota kecil, selama ini kurang memperoleh perhatian. Oleh karenanya perlu penelitian bertujuan mengkaji sejarah perkembangan kota kecil dan perekonomian wilayah; kontribusi faktor lokasi dan keterkaitan dengan perkembangannya. Penelitian dilakukan di kota kecil Muntilan Kabupaten Magelang, menggunakan metode penelitian analisa data sekunder. Unit analisis adalah desa diteliti secara sensus, dalam kerangka ini populasi penelitian diambil semuanya. Analisis data menggunakan teknik kuantitatif dan kualitatif.Hasil penelitian ini mengungkap terjadinya perkembangan Kota Muntilan dicirikan oleh: (1) kondisi perekonomian wilayah yang tumbuh dengan laju 6,42 %/ tahun, dan pendapatan per kapita 10,5 juta rupiah per tahun; (2) proses transisi perkotaan yang ditandai dengan pertumbuhan penduduk perkotaan sebesar 0,515 %/ tahun; (3) sistem perkotaan cenderung seimbang. Perkembangan awal Muntilan dipengaruhi oleh faktor kedekatan jarak dengan kota besar terdekatnya (10 km); faktor perkembangan jaringan transportasi l yang menentukan perkembangan kota kecil pada tahap selanjutnya. Perkembangan Kota Muntilan pada saat ini dicirinkan oleh beberapa hal, yakni kecenderungan pertumbuhan penduduk rendah (< 1%/tahun), struktur perekonomian ditandai dengan dominasi sektor tersier dengan kontribsi rata-rata 50 persen, dan kawasan terbangun meningkat dengan pertambahan luas 1-2% per tahun. Fungsi Kota Muntilan cenderung menguat sebagai pusat pelayanan yang ditandai besaran nilai quosien >1 pada 3-5 sektor.References
