Abstract

In 1957 there was a one-sided action carried out by Barisan Tani Indonesia in Sendangmulyo Village. This action was called by Peristiwa Minggir and became national news. This study aims to determine: background, chronology and completion of the Peritiwa Minggir. The methode used in this research is the critical historical method which consist of four stages, namely heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography. The results of this study indicate that one-sided action taken by Barisan Tani Indonesia (BTI) originated from economic disparities and political polarization that occurred in Sendangmulyo. The farm workers together with BTI took an action not to hand over their harvest to the landlords as a form of action to take back the land which they thought was the right of the farm workers. The Peristiwa Minggir was then resolved through legal channels in 1965 with the decision to return the land title to the owner of Letter C.
